Modular Platform, Turbidity Sensors for Food, Beverage and Dairy Industries

Description

Hygienic, front flush turbidity sensor for media with a turbidity of 200…300.000 NTU equivalent in pipes from DN25 on.

  • Frontflush sensor in compact and modular design
  • Extended temperature and pressure range
  • Independent to reflexions at small diameters or electro-polished surfaces
  • No color dependency (wave length 860 nm)
  • High reproducibility: ≤ 1 % of full scale
  • Selectable output value (%TU, NTU, EBC)
  • Extended measurement range: 200…300.000 NTU equivalent
Features / Advantages

·Front flush sensor
· Independent to reflexions at small diameters or electro-polished surfaces
· No color dependency (wave length 860 nm)
· Smallest pipe diameter: DN 25
· High reproducibility: ≤ 1% of full scale
· Switching output (switchpoint and hysteresis freely adjustable)
· Analog output 4...20 mA freely adjustable · Two ranges externally switchable

Application examples

  • Phase separation products (whey-cream-milk)
  • Separator control
  • CIP-return line (monitoring of pre-rinse water to product leftovers)
  • Yeast harvest in breweries
  • Quality control
  • Leakage control of filters, gasket, valves

Further Information:

  • The ITM-51 is compatible to the antecessor ITM-3.

In this blog post we are going back in time to toast the life of Italian physicist Giovanni Battista Venturi (1764 – 1822). He was responsible for figuring out an important element in basic fluid and airflow dynamics, which came to be known as The Venturi Effect.

When it comes to a brewery, you clean to prevent the transfer of tastes from one beer to the next, and you clean to help assure your product is safe for human consumption. In the face of increasing supply and demand, brewing plants are compelled to keep the cost of production as low as possible, without sacrificing safety and quality of the end-product.
