CRAFT COLUMN WATER DEAERATION (COLD)

High improvement of quality - minimum investment costs! Optional high precision OXYTRANS O2 sensor for process control.

For the production of quality beverages with long shelf life, and to prevent corrosion of boiler and piping systems, water needs to be deaerated. Deaeration is performed at ambient temperature. The water is dispersed at the top of the column. The column contains densely packed, thin stainless steel sheets arranged in such way that the water takes multiple paths as it flows down through the column. This maximizes the transfer surface and the contact time between the water and the strip gas (CO2 or N2). The strip gas is fed into the bottom of the column and flows upwards inside it in counter current to the water. The large partial pressure difference of O2 forces the oxygen out of the water into the gas phase. At the top of the column the removed oxygen leaves the system as a gas, together with the undissolved strip gas. The O2 content of the deaerated water can be permanently monitored by a Centec OXYTRANS sensor. The virtually oxygen free water is collected at the bottom of the column. The system can be supplied pre-assembled or as an assembly kit for minimum investment costs. Contact Instek Control for the DATASHEET and for more information; info@instek.co.za / 012 998 6326

In this blog post we are going back in time to toast the life of Italian physicist Giovanni Battista Venturi (1764 – 1822). He was responsible for figuring out an important element in basic fluid and airflow dynamics, which came to be known as The Venturi Effect.

When it comes to a brewery, you clean to prevent the transfer of tastes from one beer to the next, and you clean to help assure your product is safe for human consumption. In the face of increasing supply and demand, brewing plants are compelled to keep the cost of production as low as possible, without sacrificing safety and quality of the end-product.

The highest priority in the production of food, beverages and pharmaceuticals is product safety. In sanitary applications, such as the production of vaccines or baby food, the purity, quality and stability of the product must be ensured.
